Time trialling is currently experiencing a resurgence in popularity, with more and more riders buying the latest aero kit and, quite rightly, wanting to go faster.
Training for time trials is all about increasing the amount of power you can hold, just brushing the “red line” with your fingertips, knowing that if you go over it you will blow! Being confident in your physical ability to produce a high percentage of your maximum, and always trying to set a new ceiling in terms of speed and power are vital ingredients in the training prescription for TT’s.
At BlackCat we’ve used this approach to guide riders to National Championship wins, as well as numerous PB’s and CTT open event wins and podiums.
Our structured, analytical approach focuses on attaining the highest possible cruising speed, and being able to hold it in the best aerodynamic position. Training indoors on a turbo or home trainer is a vital part of this.
